Even though I haven’t the slightest idea about using a professional camera, my fiancée and I have jumped into the world of photography with both feet and bought ourselves a Nikon D5000. We’ve both been wanting a good camera for a long time, and now we have one on the way. It’s pretty scary… but it’s exciting. I’m doing some reading to get a head start on things, and so far I’ve found this great review: http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/nikond5000/ which is extremely in-depth and I’m learning a lot. I wonder if the manual that comes with the camera is as detailed?

If I have the time, I’d like to post what I’ve learned here, or at the very least, links to what I’m reading about as I try to learn my way around the camera and photography in general.  So far so good… next up… aperture (not the software, the concept as per “optics”).
