Sunday has become movie day… I have been too lazy (or busy?) to write reviews of all the movies I’ve seen but I have some time now and so I’ll tell you a little about The Hills Have Eyes uncut edition. The bottom line: it was ok. It wasn’t “wow you have to see this movie” but it wasn’t “wow you should not see this movie (e.g. see my review for The Wickerman). Read on for more, as you may have guessed…

Haha I finally got around to seeing Scream! Wow it’s only been like 20 years since it came out haha. Well. It was ok. It’s fun to watch cheesy movies make fun of cheesy movies. It’s fun in a cheesy sort of way. It’s the same sort of fun that one might have writing a paragraph long review of said movie. I’m not sure what else I can say. I really don’t think there should be 3 of these out there but I swear I saw scream 3 on netflix… wow… now that I think of it… that is probably the scariest part of all.

OMG please do not see this movie.

Why? It’s bad, that’s why. If you care to find out what I think sucked about it… read on… ;)

Eek. I decided to see this movie Firewall, with Harrison Ford. I figured it would be something I could watch with my parents and maybe, just maybe, it would have the right mix of real technology and fake… shit. Well for some reason people making movies don’t think real technology is exciting enough to use. So what happens is you get real stuff (like a linux terminal… oh so complicated looking!) but it’s mixed with such ridiculous fake bull like “well I’m going to pull his IPS policy to the black hole- that should counteract the procedure and trip him up”. Huh? I mean why bother? How can an actor even say that shit with a straight face? I dunno.

The fecknology aside though, this movie was still really cheesy. It comes down to this - when you kidnap a family, you kill the dog, or you leave the dog behind. You DO NOT TAKE THE DAMN DOG. Kidnappers don’t take the family pet. If they do take the dog, this is what happens: the hero uses the GPS collar on the dog to conveniently search for and locate the family. Of course at the last moment the dog is let go because it would be too easy, but it’s still close enough for the hero to find the bad guys. Give me a friggin break.

In closing - don’t bother. The hour and a half would be better spent reading a good book.

Wow! I saw this movie and I loved it, so much so in fact, that I saw a line during the credits that said “based on the novel by Robert Ludlum” and I got the book immediately. Overall I can say that the book and movie are both great, but the book - wow. Read on for more details :)

I think this movie was a great concept. Great idea. Mankind does seem to have gotten progressively worse throughout the years (i.e. more war, more conflict, not less). Is it because we stopped listening to the narfs that live in the blue world? I’m not sure. But what I see in this tale (as it’s described at the start of the movie) is basically that at one point people were more in touch with a feminine deity and had balance - and as time passed we collectively neglected the feminine aspect and became more angry, aggro, however you want to describe it ;) This is something that some people believe they have fact for (look up info about the history of goddess based religions, you’ll see what I mean), it’s more of an idea to me - something that I could make a case for that it seems to me this movie is attempting to portray. However - it’s done in a very cheesy hollywood style. Read on - if you want to hear more babble/rant/review ;)

So with this movie coming out I decided to grab some more Dick. Philip K. Dick of course ;) So far this book is well… it’s teh awesome. What can I say? I’m halfway done and I really don’t want to stop reading. I’ll edit this and post a full review of the book when I’m done, and then add a review of the movie after I see it. I really hope they don’t kill it! (Saw the movie - read on for more about the book and movie!)

Wow. Hide & Seek is great. Kinda like secret window but with a scary little girl in it. Dakota Fanning rocks! I’m still in shock from the alternate ending so maybe I’ll write more later.

LOL Wow. I had no idea. I just happened to flick to this channel and see… wow… so horrible. It’s almost as bad as the sci-fi channel original “Terminal Error” lol. Hahahaha I can’t stop laughing. *sigh*.

“Ready on the left… Ready on the right… Ready on the firing line!” Serpico is such a great movie! That quote is from a scene in a firing range (duh) where Serpico was gettin some practice. It’s also been sampled in tons of songs, one of which being “Can I Get Open?” by Original Flava (featuring Jay Z in his younger days). Feels good to know where that sample came from. Other highlights include tons of shots of real nyc in the 70’s, from places like Astoria Park, and west 14th Street in Manhattan. You didn’t think I was gonna tell you anything about the movie did you? ;) Just see it! Ok fine Al Pacino is the only clean cop in a corrupt force, but that’s all I’m telling you.
